Pharmacological action

Pharmacodynamics: Florfenicol belong to the amphenicols broad-spectrum antibiotic, has a strong antimicrobial activity on the gram-positive bacterium, gram-negative bacterium and mycoplasma. Florfenicol is a kind of bacteriostat ,combination with the ribosome 50S subunit,inhibit the bacteria protein synthesis.The antimicrobial activity of the florfenicol in vitro is similar or better than the chloramphenicol, thiamphenicol,the bacteria resistant to chloramphenicol which caused by acetylation,such as escherichia coli, klebsiella pneumonia may still sensitive to florfenicol. Pasteurella hemolytica, pasteurum bacillusultocida and highly acted sensitive to florfenicol.

Pharmacokinetics:After oral administration of florfenicol, absorption was very speed,about 1 hour can achieve treatment concentration in blood,1-3 hours peak plasma concentration.The bioavailability can achieve over 80%.The distribution of florfenicol in animal is very extensive, effectively traverse blood-brain barrier.The florfenicol technical mainly excrete in urine,less excrete in faeces.

Drug interactions:

1.The action target of the macrolides and lincosamides is same with this product,all of them are combination with the ribosome 50S subunit, combination use produce  the antagonism.

2.May antagonism the bactericidal activity of the penicillins and aminoglycosides,but do not demonstrated in animal body yet.

Indications:

Used to treat the bacteriosis of pig and chicken which caused by sensitive bacteria,such as infectious pleuropneumonia of swine,the typhoid fever, paratyphoid caused by salmonella.Also can treat chicken cholera, pullorum disease, colibacillosis.

Usage and Dosage:

Intramuscular injection:For one time,per KG weight,pig,chicken 0.2ml,injection are given every 48 hours, continuous use for 2 times.

Adverse drug reaction:

1.Use high dose has the immunosuppressive action

2.It has embryotoxicity, pregnancy and lactation livestock should be used with caution

Precautions:

1. Egg laying period is forbidden

2. Renal insufficiency livestock should reduce or extend interval time using medicine.

3. Vaccination period or immune function defect animals are forbidden.

Withdrawal Period:Pig 14 days,Chicken 28 days.
