Pharmacological action

Pharmacodynamics:Gentamycin belong to the aminoglycosides,it has antibacterial effect on most of gram-negative bacterium(such as escherichia coli, klebsiella, proteus, pseudomonas aeruginosa, pasteurella, salmonella and so on) and staphylococcus aureus(include extended spectrum beta-lactamases(ESBLs)-producing strains).Most streptococcus(such as streptococcus pyogenes, pneumococcus, streptococcus faecium), anaerobion(Bacaeroides or acuformis Prevot), mycobacterium tuberculosis and fungus resistance to this product.

Pharmacokinetics: After intramuscular injection absorbs quickly and completely.In 0.5-1 hour reach the peak concentration of blood.The bioavailability of subcutaneous and intramuscular injection over 90%. Mainly through the glomerular filtration excretion, excretion of dosage is 40%-80%.The half-life period after intramuscular injection,horse 1.8-3.3 hours, calf2.2-2.7 hours,dog and cat 0.5-1.5 hours,cow,pig 1 hour,rabbit 1-2 hours,sheep, buffalo,cattle, milk goat 2.3-3.2 hours.

Drug interactions:

1. Gentamicin use with tetracycline, erythrocin may show antagonism.

2.Used with cephalosporin, dextranum, diuretics(such as furosemide), erythrocin,can enhance the ototoxicity of this product.

3. Muscle relaxant(such as succinylcholine chloride) or the medicines have this effect can enhance the neuromuscular blockade effect of this product.

Indications:

Used to treat the sensitive gram negative and positive bacteria infection,such as blood poisoning, urogenital tract infection, respiratory tract infection, alimentary infection, peritonitis, biliary tract infection, mammitis, skin and soft tissue infection and infectious coryza.

Usage and Dosage:

Intramuscular injection:For one time ,Per KG weight livestock 0.1-0.2ml;Dog ,cat 0.15-0.25 ml.

Twice a day,continuous use 2-3 days

Adverse drug reaction:

Can damage vestibular function,also can cause reversible nephrotoxicity, related to the accumulation of renal cortex. Occasionally anaphylaxis.

Precautions:

1. Gentamicin combination use with β-lactam antibiotics can treat terrible cold,but mix incompatibility in vitro.

2. Combination use with penicillin produce synergistic effect on streptococcus.

3.It has respiratory inhibition,do not intravenous injection.

Pig 40 days;cattle,sheep 40 days
