The pharmacological characteristics and veterinary clinical application of tylosin tartrate
Tylosin, also known as Tylosin and Tylosin, is a macrolide antibiotic obtained from the culture broth of Streptomyces freundii in the United States in 1959. Tylosin is a white plate-like crystal, slightly soluble in water and alkaline. The products are tartrate, phosphate, hydrochloride, sulfate and lactate, which are easily soluble in water. Its aqueous solution can be stored for 3 months at 25°C and pH 5.5-7.5, but if the aqueous solution contains metal ions such as iron and copper, this product will become invalid.
Tylosin is a common livestock and poultry drug. There are currently three common situations on the market, including tylosin base, sulfate and tartrate. According to the national veterinary drug standards, there are three contents, 5%, 10%, and 50%. The 10% content is the most common in the market and can be used for disease methods and promote animal growth.
Characteristics of Tylosin Tartrate
It is a special antibiotic for livestock and poultry and will not cause cross-resistance problems to humans. The added dose is small, and it can be added to the feed at low doses for a long time. The growth-promoting effect is significantly better than most other antibiotics. Adding to the feed is quickly absorbed by oral administration, and the highest blood drug concentration is generally reached within 2-3 hours; the tissue is widely distributed, the effective inhibitory concentration is maintained for a long time, and the excretion is complete.
It is the drug of choice for mycoplasmosis of livestock and poultry. It has a wide antibacterial spectrum. In addition to having specific effects on mycoplasma, it also has a strong effect on Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Corynebacterium, Mycobacterium, Pasteurella, Spirochetes, etc., and it also has a certain effect on Coccidiosis.
Tylosin has a good growth-promoting effect. The rational use of tylosin as a feed additive can not only prevent livestock and poultry diseases and protect their health, but also significantly promote the growth and development of livestock and poultry, especially for young livestock and poultry. It has significant effects on livestock and poultry during the growth period, which can improve feed utilization, shorten the feeding cycle, and increase the economic benefits of breeding. Tylosin phosphate has a stable molecular structure, high biological activity and high availability, and is a new star in the feed industry as antibiotic additives.
Veterinary clinical application
With the continuous increase of domestic production of tylosin, the application of this antibiotic in my country's veterinary clinic has become more and more common. In summary, it is mainly used to prevent and treat the following livestock and poultry diseases.
1. Mycoplasma disease
Tylosin has specific effects on mycoplasma is a remarkable feature of tylosin, and tylosin has become the drug of choice for prevention and treatment of mycoplasma diseases in livestock and poultry. Mainly used for the prevention and treatment of mycoplasma pneumonia (also called endemic pneumonia in swine, known as swine asthma), Mycoplasma gallisepticum infection (also called chronic respiratory disease in chickens), sheep infectious pleuropneumonia (also called mycoplasma pneumonia), Bovine mycoplasma mastitis and arthritis, sheep mycoplasma agalactia and arthritis, swine mycoplasma serositis, arthritis, avian mycoplasma synovitis, etc.
2. Bacterial diseases
Tylosin has a good effect on diseases caused by a variety of gram-positive bacteria, and it also has a good effect on diseases caused by some gram-negative bacteria. It is mainly used for prevention and treatment in veterinary clinic.
(1) Various purulent diseases caused by Staphylococcus aureus, such as acute and chronic mastitis of cattle and sheep, dermatitis of sheep and septicemia of lamb, dermatitis and abortion of pigs, traumatic infection, abscess of horses, Cellulitis, chicken gangrenous dermatitis, sepsis, Qi inflammation and arthritis.
(2) Bovine and sheep mastitis, pig sepsis, arthritis, piglet meningitis, equine disease, traumatic infection and cervicitis caused by streptococcus.
(3) Sheep purulent-caseous lymphadenitis (pseudotuberculosis) caused by coryneform bacteria, equine ulcerative lymphangitis, subcutaneous abscess, bovine nephritis, mastitis, urinary system infection in pigs, type C Clostridium suis enteritis caused by bacteria.
(4) Pasteurella caused by swine pneumonia, bovine hemorrhagic septicemia, fowl cholera, and pasteurosis of sheep, horses and rabbits. Swine erysipelas caused by Erysipelas suis.
(5) Salmonellosis of various livestock and poultry caused by Salmonella. A variety of colibacillosis in livestock and poultry caused by pathogenic E. coli.
(6) Chronic atrophic rhinitis in pigs caused by Bordetella bronchiseptica. Tuberculosis in cattle, pigs and chickens caused by mycobacteria.
(7) Abortion and infertility caused by Brucella in cattle, sheep and pigs. Miscarriage and infertility caused by Campylobacter fetus (formerly known as Vibrio fetus) in cattle and sheep.
(8) Enteritis in pigs and chickens caused by Campylobacter coli (formerly known as Vibrio coli).
3. Spirochetes diseases
Swine dysentery caused by Swine dysentery, Swine dysentery, and avian spirochetes caused by Borrelia.
